ALBIN — Laramie County School District 2 is implementing a gun policy in light of recent legislative changes to concealed carry laws.
Though LCSD2 Superintendent Justin Pierantoni had previously stated that the district would not pursue any policy additional to the law, the board decided that summarizing aspects of the law relevant to schools would be useful for faculty, staff and parents.
The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, Superintendent Pierantoni and the LCSD2 Board of Trustees held a town hall in Albin on Tuesday evening to discuss the policy and take feedback from the public. While no community members attended, Pierantoni and the board did discuss the policy with the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.
