ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Republican officials and community supporters gathered at Memorial Hall in Rockford to endorse Dillan Vancil's campaign for the 17th Congressional District.

The gathering aimed to showcase growing Republican unity in Winnebago County and to build momentum for Vancil's campaign against incumbent Democrat Eric Sorensen.

"I want to bring my values and my leadership to represent everybody in the 17th district," Vancil stated during his speech.

Vancil highlighted his experience as a business owner and vice president of his local school board, contrasting it with Sorensen's record.

"The biggest difference between Eric Sorensen and myself is I've signed the bottom right hand corner of a paycheck," he said.
