OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — An Owensboro doctor faces a charge related to an investigation into sexual abuse by the Owensboro Police Department.

Court records show Dr. Sheldon Simon is facing 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse. He will be back in Daviess County Circuit Court on November 3rd.

In a police report filed in June of 2024 with OPD, an investigation started after a woman informed officers she was sexually abused at the doctor's West Parrish Avenue office.

She said that she started seeing Dr. Simon, who started flirting with her during an appointment. Dr. Simon asked the victim if they would clean up his office. The victim told the doctor they were homeless and could use the cash.

According to the report, the doctor picked up the victim to transport them to the office in early June of 2024
