MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- Myrtle Beach police on Thursday served five search warrants at local vape and smoke shops suspected of selling illegal substances disguised as food and candy.
Police said it's part of the department's effort to keep the potentially dangerous products from making their way into local schools.
"These products have been linked to overdoses, suicides, and serious mental health issues, and are showing up in our community and schools here in Myrtle Beach," police said in a Facebook post.
Police did not provide the names of the businesses, their addresses or any specifics about they items they are suspected of selling.
