NORFOLK, Va. — A federal jury convicted a man Tuesday in connection with a 2024 armed robbery and related crimes, the Department of Justice announced.
27-year-old Janathian Porter, also known as Frankboy Nate, Nate, or Nate Dog, was found guilty of conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery. Porter also pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of ammunition.
According to court records, Porter and 26-year-old Leonra Douglas set up a marijuana deal on Oct. 28, 2024. During the meeting, Porter robbed the dealer at gunpoint, taking the victim’s firearm. Both Porter and Douglas fled in separate vehicles.
Days later, law enforcement stopped a vehicle tied to the robbery with Douglas behind the wheel and three children inside. Police said they found a stolen handgun under the driver’s seat. D
