WENDELL, N.C. (WNCN) — A man is facing numerous charges in an ongoing investigation of a deadly crash in eastern Wake County.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Davon Montrea King was charged in connection with the death of a passenger in his vehicle from a single-car collision on Aug. 24.

CBS 17 previously reported that troopers responded to the crash around 4 a.m. on U.S. Highway 64/Interstate 87 at mile marker 432 near Lizard Lick Road just outside of Wendell.

Troopers said in their investigation that a passenger vehicle traveling east on the highway ran off the road to the left, hitting the median guardrail, causing the vehicle to veer completely off the road, striking a tree
