AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Don Harrington Discovery Center will host Girls Who Science on September 1.
The event will take place from 4:45 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. and is open for all community members for free.
Dr. Erin Jones, whose field of student focuses on entomology and bees and pollinators, will be the speaker for the event.
Dr. Jones specializes in horticulture, offering expertise and outreach on sustainable gardening and crop production. She teaches courses at WTAMU, focusing on environmentally responsible pest control strategies.
The event will have a live bee demonstration by Dr. Jones.
Girls Who Science is held on the first Monday of the month at the Discovery Center. The program features women in research-based roles.
