BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) - Firefighters said it took them 45 minutes to put out a fire at a power plant in Bridgeport on Thursday morning.

The Bridgeport Fire Department said it was called to the Russell and Atlantic Street power plant around 10:30 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they said they immediately found the fire.

They said the structure did not collapse and that all plant personnel and fire crews were accounted for.

They also reported no injuries.

The cause of the fire was said to be under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.
