Expect detours and road closures throughout the weekend in Waterloo as university and college students move in.

Temporary detours around Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Waterloo and Conestoga College will be set up from 7:30 a.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Sunday.

“Our focus during move-in weekend is to keep traffic flowing, and we thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding while navigating the city,” stated the City of Waterloo.

Wilfrid Laurier’s main campus entrance at Hazel Street and University Avenue West will be closed for the weekend. Seagram Drive will be closed as well, with move-in traffic only.

Lester Street will allow one-way, northbound traffic only, from Seagram Drive to University Avenue West. There will be no access from University Avenue West an
