HAMPTON, Va. — Motorists traveling on I-64 west in Hampton should prepare for overnight lane closures beginning Wednesday, Sept. 3, as crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation continue work on the Hampton Roads Express Lanes Hampton Segment project.

Contractor crews will implement full directional closures lasting up to four hours between Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road (exit 267) and North Armistead Avenue (exit 265) to support overhead sign installations. These closures are scheduled from 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Sept. 3 and 4, with a backup date of Sept. 5 if needed.

During the closures, the on-ramp from Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road to I-64 west will also be closed. Drivers heading east on Settlers Landing Road will be detoured via Woodland Road, East Mercury Bou
