EUGENE, Ore. - A stolen Toyota Rav 4 was successfully recovered in Eugene after police were alerted by a license plate reader camera, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said that the vehicle was reported stolen from Green Acres Road on August 24. The officer located it on Norkenzie Road at Holly Avenue. The vehicle's owner, a man in his 50s, was promptly notified and reunited with his car.

Community Service Officers, funded by the Community Safety Payroll Tax, are non-sworn personnel who assist at crash sites and provide traffic control. They offer a cost-effective alternative to sworn officers, enhancing response times and service levels for the Eugene community.
