SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Illinois Department of Transportation announced plans to reopen lanes closed for construction where possible for the Labor Day holiday.
Non-emergency closures will be suspended from 3 p.m. Friday, August 29, to 11:59 p.m. Monday, September 1.
For the lane closures which will remain in place during the holiday weekend, motorists should expect delays and allow extra time for travel through these areas.
