Roger Howarth is proving that all is fair in love and soap operas by crossing over to The Young and the Restless after being on General Hospital for decades.

News broke on Thursday, August 28, that Howarth, 56, is returning to CBS for a mystery role on The Young and the Restless beginning this fall. According to Deadline, Howarth will start shooting in September and his debut will follow later this year.

The details surrounding who Howarth is playing on the soap opera have not been publicly revealed, but the actor teased his return to the genre via Instagram.

“Excited and appreciative … I’m a lucky guy …,” Howarth wrote on Thursday. He shared a mirror selfie, in which he crossed his fingers and added a “Y” and an “R” to the image.
