INDIANAPOLIS — Nakeya Nicole Williams, 46, was killed on July 26 after the Mazda 6 she was a passenger in collided head-on with a tree on the city's northeast side. Now, the driver of the Mazda is being charged in connection with her death after police discovered he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Raymond Smiley of Indianapolis was charged on Wednesday with causing death when operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Level 4 felony; driving while suspended resulting in death, a Level 5 felony; and leaving the scene of the accident, a misdemeanor.
