Country Egg’s Large Brown Cage Free Sunshine Yolks eggs have been recalled after causing 95 people to become sick with the same strain of salmonella.
The Center for Disease Control sent out a food safety alert about the eggs today, telling people not to eat, sell or serve them.
Eggs were distributed in California and Nevada in individual retail cartons under brand names Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho and Nijiya Markets.
Recalled eggs can be returned to where they were bought.
The CDC said that people and businesses should wash any surfaces touched by the eggs with hot, soapy water or a dishwasher.
Most people who get salmonella develop diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps. The illness usually lasts four to seven days and most people recover without treatment.
