GERMANTOWN, Tenn. - A Germantown High School student was attacked and chased back onto the campus by two people, one of whom was armed, Memphis Shelby County Schools said.
During school dismissal Tuesday afternoon, MSCS said, an incident occurred off-campus between the student and two other people who the district said were not associated with the school, one of whom had a weapon. MSCS said the student was chased back onto campus by the two people who had attacked him.
The district said their security and local authorities began an investigation, and more officers will be on campus for the rest of the week.
"We are committed to the safety and well-begin of all students and staff and will work cooperatively with local authorities to resolve this matter," MSCS said in a statement.
