BIRD-IN-HAND, Pa. (WHTM) -- The fire-damaged Bird-In-Hand Family Restaurant reopened Thursday after a 19-month closure.
The culinary staple at 2760 Old Philadelphia Pike closed in January 2024 after flames damaged the kitchen and lobby.
It had been in temporary quarters since last Spring, opening that location at the former Revere Tavern until the end of 2024.
The revamped permanent location opened to diners at 11 a.m. Thursday and features an expanded buffet and seats for 350 guests.
"We like people. We like guests, and we established this restaurant 55 years ago to be a vibrant part of the community," said John E. Smucker II, president and CEO of the Bird-In-Hand Corporation. "So, to have people coming in and walking in the doors and enjoying some good food and fellowship and meeting
