LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -- A Lancaster woman will spend two years in a federal prison after authorities say she defrauded over $1.4 Million from the AMVETS and American Legion.

Jessika L. Hiepler, 47, of Lancaster, was sentenced Thursday to 24 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release. She was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Schmehl.

She was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine, serve 100 hours of community service, and pay $432,925.35 in restitution.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, she and an associate swindled the American Legion Post 34 and AMVETS Post 19 out of $1.425 Million.

“Jessika Hiepler abused the great reputation of veterans to win the trust of those who support them,” said U.S. Attorney Metcalf.
