MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Two people were arrested Monday for bringing guns to the University of Memphis campus on the first day of the semester. College campuses across the country have seen some serious challenges during the start of the Fall 2025 semester, namely hoax phone calls about threats and active shooters. FOX13 learned the U of M, though, had to deal with an actual threat. No shots were fired and no one was hurt during the incident, which happened around 5:30 Monday evening. According to the U of M, four people were standing outside the Rose Theater “harassing” students.
