SOMERVILLE, Tenn. (WMC) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is working to solve the murder of Pauline Pusser, a 58-year-old cold case.

Pauline Pusser was the wife of Buford Pusser, a famed sheriff whose efforts against crime inspired the film Walking Tall .

The story of Buford Pusser has been heralded in the media, with his wife’s shooting death being a tragic stain on the Pusser legacy that remains unsolved.

TBI agents have taken over the case, exhuming the body of Pusser from Adamsville, Tennessee, and looking to put answers together after decades of unanswered questions.
