If one were to guess how many of those delightful Free Little Libraries existed across St. Catharines, they’d probably figure something like 15, 20 or even 25.

Kai Janzen is certain there’s well more than 50, maybe even close to 100.

The 19-year-old Eden High School graduate knows this because since the beginning of spring he’s been getting an up-close look at the various neighbourhood book depots on a journey to run on every city street.

On April 1, Janzen embarked on the ambitious personal challenge. Tallying it up using Google Maps’ distance-measuring tool, Janzen figures that works out to just less than 700 kilometres of pavement.
