City to host public hearing to collect comments

Surprise wants to hear from anybody who has feedback on housing or community development needs in the city.

The city is calling on organizations and residents to express their views to the Surprise Veterans, Disability and Human Services Commission at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 at City Council Chambers, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza.

Residents should focus on providing decent housing, a suitable living environment and opportunities to expand economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income households.

The public hearing comes in anticipation of the city receiving approximately $748,125 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through Surprise’s citizen participation plan.
