PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- One person died Thursday morning after getting into a car crash in Pickens County.

Investigators with South Carolina Highway Patrol said the collision occurred around 10:51 a.m. on US 123 near Adger Road.

Officials said a 2003 Ford pickup truck was heading north on the roadway when it went off the right side of the road, hitting an embankment and continuing forward until it hit a tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, SCHP said. The Pickens County Coroner's Office has not yet shared the identity of the person who died.
