BATON ROUGE — LSU football may be without one of its starting safeties for the first half of the Clemson game Saturday night (6:30 p.m. CT, ABC).

Brian Kelly told reporters following the team's practice Thursday afternoon that LSU was alerted to possible eligibility ruling stemming from safety A.J. Haulcy' s last game with Houston in December that might cause him to miss the first half in LSU's season opener.

Rumors kicked up Thursday afternoon over whether or not Haulcy was going to be available due to an unsportsmanlike penalty he accrued in the bowl game against BYU in the final minutes after a fight broke out between the two teams. STREAM LSU VS CLEMSON
