RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The wait for the start of the 2025 college football season is over for NC State.

The Wolfpack begins their new campaign at home against in-state rival East Carolina. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Thursday night at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh.

It will be the second consecutive matchup between the two programs, as they ended the 2024 season facing off against each other in the Military Bowl last December. The Pirates won that game 26-21.

Thursday night's game is the 34th time the two programs will face off, and the third time in seven years that they'll do so to open the season. NC State leads the all-time series 19-14, including a 16-7 mark at home against ECU.

The Wolfpack next play Virginia in Raleigh on Sept. 6. The Week 2 game is set to start at noon at Carte
