ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) - Rain starts off the long weekend tonight and into Friday. A cold front gives us one of the cooler shots of air we've had all Summer as we say goodbye to August. Our Summer draws to a close and the temperatures are certainly feeling like Fall.

An energetic trough with a surface cold front moves into the Twin Tiers bringing with it a batch of rain before thinning out Friday afternoon.

If you are going to the last week of The Great New York State Fair in the Syracuse area, you are going to get rain Friday on the midway, but the sun comes out in full force Saturday bringing fair days on the fair days!
