BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — On Friday, bow hunters in North Dakota get their first chance to head out in the field searching for a deer.
Deer archery season opens tomorrow at noon.
Deer bow licenses can be bought online or over the counter, but Game and Fish supervisors say you must wait until your tag arrives in the mail before you're allowed to hunt.
Hunters may experience a more difficult time this year, as wildlife supervisors say both mule deer and white-tailed deer numbers decreased in the most recent surveys. The good news, they say, is that the deer that survived the winter are now enjoying a healthy habitat thanks to this year's moisture.
