With small businesses making up over 99% of all business in Utah, it should come as no surprise that last month, hackers targeted numerous Utah businesses with a series of phishing and malware attacks.

Whether it’s a cyberattack on a small business that involves customer data and private information or a foreign adversary targeting our supply chains, water treatment systems, or energy grid, the consequences would be disastrous.

Simply being vigilant for heightened cyber activity is not enough. We need strong cyber protections and advanced technologies that can stay ahead of bad actors.

This begins with strengthening American tech companies. Our innovators are the frontline in our cyber strategy. We must invest in cyber education
