Two long-standing Northern Santa Barbara County football rivals will go at it when Lompoc faces Santa Ynez Friday night.
Kickoff at Santa Ynez's Rio Memorial Field is set for 7 p.m. The game, Santa Ynez's home opener, was originally scheduled for Huyck Stadium in Lompoc but was re-set for Rio Memorial Field because of lighting issues at Huyck.
The visiting Braves and the Pirates are both 1-0. Lompoc won 17-7 at Nipomo last week, and Santa Ynez won 43-22 at Dos Pueblos.
From 2005 on, Lompoc is 14-3 in its series against Santa Ynez. Lompoc has won three of the last five meetings, and the Braves beat the Pirates 28-10 at Santa Ynez last year.
