Omni Hotel requests permit to turn historic building into pickleball destination

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Omni Hotel has submitted a plan to turn a historic building near the hotel into a pickleball destination.

On Tuesday, August 26, Omni submitted a request for a release of wrecking permit for the Odd Fellows Building at 211 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard to begin their multi-year plan to develop a pickleball-focused entertainment venue.

Preservationists have previously rallied to prevent the demolition of the historic building and say that it contributes to Louisville’s history and attracts visitors.

The Omni’s plans for the venue include four indoor and four outdoor pickleball courts, an indoor restaurant, bar, entertainment space, outdoor yard game areas and flexible event and gathering space.
