LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Ruth Bomnsa is not your typical teenager.

She got her high school diploma from Ballard High School in May, but she’s very young.

“You were graduating high school, walked the stage... when you were how old?” Anchor Maira Ansari asked.

“I was 15,” Ruth Bomnsa said. “Actually, it hit me when I was on the stage all my friends who were graduating are 18/17 and I’m 15,” Ruth explained.

That was a big achievement but there is an even bigger one.

Bomnsa is still 15 and this time she’s walking around a college campus.

Ruth is a freshman at Jefferson Community and Technical College.

“I’m having a great experience so far,” Bomnsa said. “Everyone is so nice. I’m currently taking anatomy, physiology, psychology 110, math 150.”
