WOONSOCKET – After more than 18 months of delays and rating downgrades from several credit agencies, Woonsocket’s long-awaited 2023 audit is nearing the finish line.
On Monday, the City Council voted unanimously to receive the draft audit and authorize officials to sign a management representation letter. Now, the independent audit firm CBIZ can finalize and issue the report.
“We’re in the final, final stages,” said James Wilkinson, managing director at CBIZ. He told councilors the firm expects to release the final audit imminently, potentially within a day of the meeting.
