Phyllis A. Sawtelle, 69, passed away peacefully at home in Port Charlotte, Fla., with her best friend, Maureen, by her side on Aug. 25, 2025.
She was born in Woonsocket to the late Wilfred Garneau and Dora Millea Garneau. She was a longtime patron of the Elks Lodge in Woonsocket for many years and a member of St. Joseph's Veterans Association. She loved to travel, going to the beach and entertaining everyone. She also loved to play bingo, cards and games and spending time with her family and friends.
Phyllis worked for General Motors assembling cars for many years and was also a CNA for years before retiring.
She is survived by her daughter, Tonya L. Sawtelle, and her partner, Mateo Rivera III, of Greenville, R.I.; her son, John D. Sawtelle, and his partner, Iris Santiago, of Woonsocket
