PHOENIX — Inmates at Lewis Prison are without running water after a water main break at the prison complex, according to a statement from the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry.
Visitation at the prison has been canceled except for legal and DES visits, the statement said.
The department said they were notified of the break on Thursday. The only units at the prison that are not affected are the Eagle Point and Sunrise units. Temporary water resources, including drinking water, are available for inmates and staff, the statement said.
All outdoor activity for inmates has been canceled to "help prevent any heat-related incidents," the statement said.
