OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A Council Bluffs man was arrested early Thursday morning after officers responded to a disturbance near 30th Street and Avenue E.

The CBPD reported that at about 1:34 a.m., officers went to a call involving multiple individuals and learned a man, later identified as Daniel Smith, had assaulted the victims “because of their ancestry.”

Smith was arrested and booked for attempted murder, assault in violation of individual rights with a dangerous weapon, and domestic abuse.
