BROADVIEW, Ill. (WLS) -- One person was shot Thursday night in the west suburbs, Illinois State Police said.

State police initially said the person was shot on eastbound Interstate 290 at 25th Avenue in Broadview just after 7:30 p.m., state police said.

The person was taken to a hospital with injuries, police said.

Police later said initial investigation shows the shooting took place off the interstate.

State police did not immediately provide additional information about what led up to the shooting, the extent of the person's injuries or if anyone is in custody.

It's not clear if any roads are closed.
