The Denver Broncos have to be breathing a sigh of relief after wide receiver and punt returner Marvin Mims Jr. left practice with a groin injury on Wednesday.

On Thursday, head coach Sean Payton revealed that the 5-foot-11, 182 pound wideout from Oklahoma is expected to return to practice after the weekend.

"On Marvin, good news, he'll be back to practice," Payton said on Thursday, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN . "We have a bonus practice Monday, and he'll be at work Monday. So, we're fortunate."

Mims is expected to be ready to go for the Broncos' Week 1 matchup with the Tennessee Titans on September 7, and that's big news for second-year quarterback Bo Nix and Denver's offense.

Heading into his third season, Mims has become a strong part of Denver's offense. He caught 39 passes
