COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus father was indicted Wednesday in the death of his 3-year-old son last week.

According to Franklin County Common Pleas Court documents, 30-year-old Daniel Neal was indicted on one count of aggravated murder and one count of murder.

Neal was arrested after allegedly assaulting and killing his son on Aug. 18.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 100 block of Buckeye Circle, located south of London Groveport Road, after receiving a complaint.

Police arrived and found the boy dead. Court documents state that the child was “fatally injured by physical force.”

Neal was questioned by detectives and, according to court documents, admitted to assaulting the child.

He was given a $2 million bond the next day.
