IA, NE, SD (KCAU) — Health officials in Nebraska are warning of a new batch of mosquitoes that are testing positive for West Nile virus.

Public health experts at the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department are using their social media pages and websites to warn of the cluster they say was found right here in Siouxland in the northeast part of Nebraska.

They believe the areas most likely to encounter the insects are in the counties of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston, and Wayne, all of which are in Nebraska.

Earlier this week, South Dakota health officials confirmed their 26th case of someone getting sick from West Nile, as well as one West Nile-related death. Iowa confirmed its first case in early August.
