LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Laurel County Public Schools are increasing security on their high school campuses after a threat against a student.
According to a release posted on social media, Laurel County Public Schools officials were informed about an out-of-state juvenile who threatened a South Laurel High School Student.
The juvenile who made the threat was detained out of state. School officials say there was at no point an active threat on campus.
Officials say that, out of an abundance of caution, they have increased the law enforcement presence on their high school campuses.
Laurel County Sheriff John Root posted a video on social media to update the public on the situation and confirm that safety protocols are being followed.
