BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- It was a routine Friday afternoon for first responders at Akron Fire Company, until they received a call they would never forget. EMS Captain Savannah Bergman says this day was one that changed her forever.

“The screaming, and the crying for help that, that is kind of what got to me, just hearing that and trying to block that out,” says Bergman.

Captain Bergman has been a first responder for years, but nothing could have prepared her for what she experienced on Aug. 22 in Pembroke.

“People everywhere, the bus flipped on its side, just belongings everywhere, and just seeing that, kinda felt like, oh my gosh, 'where’s the cameras? Where's the take two?' And it wasn't there, it was actually real life,” says Bergman. “There's no words to describe what you see in that
