EAST GRAND FORKS — Park Christian has five receivers who are 6-foot-2 or taller.

But one stood above the rest in Thursday night’s season opener against Polk County West in East Grand Forks.

Sporting a 6-foot-5 frame, senior Freddy Leistikow hauled in three touchdowns and 169 receiving yards on five receptions to propel the Falcons to a 33-12 win over the Thunder.

“It doesn’t surprise me,” Park Christian head coach Matt Baasch said. “Other guys could’ve done the same thing, but it doesn’t surprise me a bit that he did this, because he’s a heck of a football player. He wants to play in college, and he really showed that he could be a college football player tonight.”
