PHOENIX (AZFamily) — With high school football season underway across Arizona, the Friday night lights won’t be shining for two Valley high schools this week.
South Mountain High School was supposed to travel and face off against Canyon View High School . However, in an unexpected move, South Mountain chose to cancel the game instead.
“I was devastated because this is the first game of our senior season,” said a South Mountain High student who didn’t want to be identified, “At least we got the next game.”
South Mountain High officials say there are multiple reasons why they ended up without enough players heading into Friday’s game.
