BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The Magnolia West Mustangs took down the Bryan High Vikings 20-13 in overtime on Thursday night to kick off the season. Here is a rapid reaction:

Why did Magnolia West win? The Mustangs’ defense continued to find ways to hold the Vikings to only one touchdown in the first half. A forced fumble in the first quarter from linebacker Rylan Langley sparked the momentum that pushed Magnolia to victory.

Standout performance: Mustangs’ running back, Gage Jordan, was the hero for Magnolia. The junior scored two of the three Mustangs’ touchdowns, including the overtime winner.

What’s next? Magnolia West hosts Morton Ranch at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5. Bryan welcomes Huntsville, also on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.
