A Theodore man stalked a 2026 candidate for Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries for six months, harassing and threatening both her and her daughters.
Now the candidate said she hopes other women who are bullied will stand up and hold their perpetrators accountable.
Christina Woerner McInnis, who is running for the GOP nomination for the commissioner’s seat, spoke publicly about her stalker, 58-year-old Clate Clark Jr.
Clark admitted to creating more than 27 fake profiles to harass and threaten McInnis, her daughters and other women, according to a press release from the McInnis campaign.
Clark pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor offense of harassing communications, according to court records. He was sentenced to 90 days in the Baldwin County Jail.
