Glasgow's M8 Woodside Viaduct roadworks are now expected to remain until 2027 after 'previously unknown challenges' were discovered.
Transport Scotland has revealed further misery for commuters as plans to prop up parts of the busy motorway are subject to further delays. Work on the project to install the supports for the viaducts began in 2021, and completion was expected two years ago.
However, transport bosses say a sewer has been found near an SPT tunnel was found to be in a different location than expected, slowing work to prop up the westbound viaducts. The delay means that the temporary repair to the Woodside Viaduct and removal of traffic management from the eastbound carriageway is now scheduled for Autumn 2026, with the westbound carriageway scheduled for the second half of
