LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Unsettled weather is here to stay as we round out the work week and head into Labor Day Weekend.

Make sure to pack the rain jacket and umbrella as you are heading out the door this morning as our Friday will focus on rounds of showers and storms.

Temperatures will be held in check as we are back into the middle and upper 80s for highs.

While we could see a few showers and storms this morning, another wave is expected through the afternoon and evening hours as well bringing heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty winds.

Rain chances will continue as we head into our Saturday as well with yet another round possible during the first half of the day with additional storms firing with some of the heating during the afternoon.
