PAWLING- Emergency responders from Putnam and Dutchess teamed up and rescued an injured logger struck by a tree off Little Pond Road and Route 55 in Pawling that resulted in the victim suffering a crushed leg.

Pawling Fire Department personnel received a 9-1-1 call around 12:30 p.m. and when Chief Everett White reached the scene he requested additional assistance.

A Putnam paramedic responded along with members of the Beekman and Pawling Fire Departments.

The chief said a tree being harvested toppled onto another tree which pinned the victim. He was extricated and administered to at the scene before firefighters utilized an all-terrain Stokes cart allowing them to carry the victim to a waiting ambulance.
