WASHINGTON D.C.- The White House Office of Management and Budget has agreed to release over $184 million in funding, including $14.7 million for projects in New York, to support AmeriCorps, an independent federal agency that provides services such as disaster relief, anti-poverty, education, health, and other services. The decision to resume funding restores cuts to around 80 percent of the agency’s grants and ensures that volunteers and staff will be paid for this year’s projects and work will continue into next year.
