All young children in England will be offered a new chickenpox vaccine on the NHS .

The free jab will be given as two doses, at 12 and 18 months of age, combined with the existing MMR jab.

It will aim to boost protection for kids from the severe, although rare, complications of chickenpox.

It will also aim to ensure parents spend less time off work looking after their sick children.

Chickenpox is a common illness among young children and usually nothing to worry about.

Currently, parents have to pay up to £200 privately for a chickenpox jab.
